Welcome to Groundwork West Durham & Darlington
Groundwork West Durham & Darlington is one of around 50 Groundwork Trusts nationwide. Based in Bishop Auckland, Groundwork works in many communities throughout West Durham and Darlington bringing together partnerships aimed at delivering cleaner, greener, safer and more empowered communities.
The professional team of staff which make up Groundwork West Durham & Darlington have strived to develop and implement hundreds of projects within these strategies, and of course all of these activities rely on the strength of the partnerships and the energy of the communities in which we work.
For more than 10 years we have grown from a small team of seven renting space above the Auction Rooms in Bishop Auckland with a turnover of around £300,000 to a staff of almost sixty with a turnover of more than £3.7million with offices in Bishop Auckland, Annfield Plain and Darlington.
As Groundwork West Durham & Darlington continues to hone the art of community based environmental regeneration it endeavours to raise its aspirations even higher and set new targets for itself. As an organisation we try to be approachable, flexible and resourceful in order to attract people, winning their commitment and unlocking energies. We try to get things moving, helping everyone to act for the environment.
